just picked up a 50 plymouth something...i believe it say p20, but guy i bought it from swore it was a k18, which i have no idea what that is anyways. looks kinda like a fast back with smaller rear window than i have been able to find online. any ideas??? also very new to plymouths so anyone out there have some advice for some things to check on first and what are some typical challenges?

The engine number on the block above the gennerator will start with a P20, If its the stock engine. 217.8 cu inches 97 HP at 3600 Rpm. Lotsa torque. Probably a Cranbrook is the base, cambridge is mid line Savoy is fully blinged. Dodge had a similar body style 49-52, but theirs had a bustle butt due to a longer wheelbase.

check out the info at p15-d24 for flat head mopar stuff.

Lots of issues with rusty floors and rockers on these. Be sure to check in with the guys over at www.p15-d24.com as this type of car is their holy grail...
If you are planning drivetrain upgrades there are plenty of threads here to either inspire or discourage you depending on your path..:D..use the 'ol search button.
And, as you may have noticed, if you ask questions you will get all kinds of answers.

  9. the parts aren't that bad. plydo sells a front disc brake conversion kit. the rear is the predecessor to the 8 3/4 rear and its bullet proof but finding parts for that thing can be hard. Check out what im doing to my 50 4 door dodge.
