This is a 55 junior I had for years. I redid it to look just like my full size '55 bird. After selling it I had enough cash to buy a real car. :D

Not sure what you have there is a bird though.

You do not need to google Roadkillontheweb I am right here! Can't believe this thread has gone this far before I found out about it!

Give me some more photos of the car and I can probably tell you what it is and who made it. I specialize in these fiberglass bodied scale replicas and while I prefer the powered versions with electric or gas power I also have information on pedal car versions. From the one poor photo I would guess that it is a Trimex car but the seating is wrong. But there were several manfacturers and it may well be from a carnaval ride.

Either way buy the damn thing at that price you can not go wrong!

My current collection includes a 1958 Desoto Firemite

Hopefully mine will look like this again someday?

    and I have a 1961 Thunderbird Junior

To the person that said that the Thunderbird juniors were made in kansas city you are thinking of the Donalson company that made the 1957 and 58 Ford Fairlanes and the 58 Edsel junior.

For everyone hot for a Divco? stand in line they do not show up very often and they go pretty high when they do!

If you have frame building skills I can make as many of the following bodies as you want! I have the original factory body and bumper molds and I make a lot of the other parts for them also. If you are good enough you can have one done by the summer car show season?

    1957 Thunderbird body

    1958-60 Thunderbird body and bumpers

And lastly the 65-66 Mustang Junior body

All but the 57 Thunderbird are large enough for an average size adult to sit down inside and drive check out my youtube videos and you will see my 6'4" nephew driving my old 67 Mustang before I sold it.

You're right - that sure isn't the ones made in KC!

I knew you were on here, and was wondering when you'd show up. :)

I've always had a soft spot for the Desoto. ;)

It took me 20 years to find the Desoto. I went as far as to check old newspapers and find out what dealerships had them and were using them in promotions. Then I went forward a few weeks to find out what kid won the car in the raffle. I made lots of calls to suprised people that wanted to know how I found them but got the same story every time. The vacuum formed plastic bodies would break into pieces because of the vibration from the briggs 6B motor, sidewalk cracks and immature drivers. once the body was trashed they would run the chassis for a while then toss it away too! My body has it's fair share of damage but I have the pieces there so that I can reproduce them.

Here is Johnny P. getting his from the dealer in 1958 (talked to both the dealer and Johnny)

I am working on the frame of the 61 Thunderbird now converting it from electric to gas powered.
