Hey, arbantique, PLEASE continue bombarding us with these photos. I am 67 with a '32 Highboy, steelies, sbc, 700R4 (HUH?), Ford 9", plus a '40 2dr with equivalent stuff, and in my second childhood, and I am not apologizing ! Your stuff takes me back to the good life. Keep up the great entries.

Here's a full-size closeup. The label reads "Dulling Spray"...

 

^ ChrisBCritter, nice work! And what a conundrum. Dulling spray is something used on bright surfaces before photos are taken in order to reduce spectral hi-lights / contrast. So, why the heck would they be using it in images used for press releases? They wouldn't, eh?

Perhaps these are really working prints made during the movie's daily production - for lighting tests, wardrobe / shot continuity, and therefore not intended or even authorized to be used as a press release? Can you make out any of the rest of the small print in the borders? Inquiring minds just have to know! Gary

Rick, Thanks for the link to my new favorite show! I never heard of this show until you posted it. I recognize Reed Hadley from Racket Squard, the shows seem very similar.

 

RB - Was the first thumbnail photo above a still from a movie? Which one? It was taken at Aquasco Dragway located in Aquasco, MD. The track was open from the mid-50s to 1979, I believe. It hosted many of the top name drag racers of the day in addition to many top notch local drag racers. Here's a pic of Richard Petty racing there the only year he drove in a straight line, 1965.
