My good pal, Jim McGowan, built this roadster in 1952, with the exception of a few redo's drove it all those years, got married in it, raised a family around it, and never stopped driving it til he died last November. The car has gone to his son , Mike, and will undoubtedly carry on.
A hub cap caps or covers the hub or center part of a rim. A wheelcover covers all of the rim. In the 50s there were no mag wheels or aftermarket so hubcaps (cheep) or preferably wheelcovers were used. I didnt want wheelcovers so that left one option. Reversing the rims. I still do that to some of my cars
I primered my 33 chev 2-door with the vacuum cleaner attachment in 1964. Didn't know anything about paint, didn't think to thin it at all, turned out like California stucco. On the plus side, it was thick and lasted forever. Ahhhh, got to love the learning process.
Just a cover and brace when I looked at it ,it has forty steering and forty rear end and forty brakes plus 56 olds engine with 56 hydro trans.

We were, but Mel scheduled another race on the beach in May. Now we are thrashing on my coupe trying to get it ready for TROG II. It's gonna be a '40's pre-WWII beater. Kinda what a kid would have built in Mom & Dad's back yard.
