how about some details... my Buick was originally 3 on the tree, so when i converted it to auto (700R4 w/ straight 8 motor) it didnt have an indicator for the gears. scored the parts off e-bay but they are not meant to go on my column or shift rod. so i drill and tap so that the indicator is fixed to the shift rod. the chrome piece with the gears was easily mounted to the column with stainless ****on heads. now for the detail, most early American cars had this order for the gears ( P N D L R ): so i had a new clear plastic piece made with the correct gears ( P R N D L ) and the letters are engraved, also had the housing chrome plated: also painted the indicator gloss black with a white tip like stock, so in the end i have a stock appearing part that serves the same function in a custom application: hope somebody gets something out of that.
Great attention to detail with the shifter and the dash turned out pretty neat. Also I love the exterior of the car man.
