Did you find any lead in the A pillors? I had to melt the A&c pillors out. What did you use for the front window rubber? I'm going to use a ribbon kit and buttle for the trim. Looks killer, got to love buicks.. And they look great with merc side trim on....lol.

thank you guys! i wish i didnt have to make money so i could keep pushing forward and see this car completed 100%. but such is life and ill just have to push even harder to find another window of time.

thunderroad, i did not find any lead on the A pillar. i did find quite a bit on the driver C pillar and only a little on the passenger C pillar. i will need to go in and melt it later. as for the window rubber, your not going to believe me but i used the original one :D i removed it carefully and was able to reuse it! i have future plans to get new glass and new seal when i paint the car but it works well for now! even the stainless goes on how it should.

alright, so i got to looking at the vent wings... the bottom of the wings are to stay the same size so the door glass isnt longer and passes the kinck. the top of the wings are actually shorter cause the top moved forward about 1.5". so anyone have any tips on how to chop these down to size now...

vent wing in frame, need to keep width and top piece to follow door top...

here you can sorta see the factory kink that separates door glass from vent wing, also notice how the bottom kink is further back (stock) and top is forward...

yeah we need to hang out. After 350 dollars and about 3 weekends of being pissed off finally found out my flooding problem was a new needle for a holley carb, what $2.00 and maybe 3 minutes to fix....I wish I would have questions on here first. I bet I could work for Holley carb I have reseached it so much. Live and learn.....but the whole time in the middle just pisses me off.

  15. Excellent job . Very inspirational .
You are way more patient than I . I chopped my 52 in one day . I cheated in every way I could find .

You have a very cool car . Keep it coming .

thank you guys for all the kind words! i am going to get back on this car soon so i can wrap up the bit that is left to finish. thought i would share this with yall...

so i got a box from Moscow, Russia today! iv been waiting for this box for a couple weeks now and was beginning to think it was never going to get here. even the mail man was excited about delivering Russian mail to my house. inside the box was a typical Post Card and 2 wooden doll key chains, very typical of Russia. however what i wanted to see was that which isnt so common of Russia, a car magazine called... "Ranflas". granted i can not read a damb thing in it other than my name, which some might think that is also Russian.

so, if any of you are interested in a copy of this magazine that features my 51 Buick B.C. (before chop) and my old 64 Bellflower Ghia; please let me know asap so that i can order extra copies. it will take a few weeks for delivery for obvious reasons so the sooner i have a number the sooner i can place the order.

1 magazine will cost $10 including shipping, thats from Russia to me, then from me to you.

    thanks!

Really nice work. Love the lines, and love the approach.

I think we need to start a "tasteful chop" club - I cut my '53 Chevy 2 inches at the windshield and another inch taken out of the crown.

Man, You've got a knack. That window vent chop was made to look easy by you. That's going to be the sweetest buick at TRR. Thanks for the Chevy 51 dash paint help.

  26. Wow, didn't follow this thread for a while... Chop looks awesome! I loved the Buick before, but now it's even better! Hope to see it in person at Billetproof Drags.

great job. I'm sure it's been said quite a few times already but i love how subtle the chop is. Enough to take notice of, but almost appears stock. love it.
