I replaced the voltage regulator on my stock chevy.I polarized the regulator according to directions. The car is charging but now my amp metering in the dash is showing discharge.I know it is charging because I can remove the battery cable and it continues to run. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it? thanks in advance!!!!

sounds like your ammeter is hooked up backwards...reverse the wires and it will go the other way... uhhh, hope your motor ain't running backwards....haa

A Chevy should have the negative battery terminal to the frame or engine block.Might be you got it wrong?

very easy fix if nothing else is incorrect like RDR said just swap the wires on your amp meter but i suspect that something else needs to be looked at, you need to find out why all of a sudden the amp meter goes backwards
