Technical 1951 Chevy coupe front sway bay upgrade

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Snegrah, Sep 20, 2019.

  1. Howdy,
Since I'm changing the engine to a V8 + open driveline I was thinking of upgrading the stock suspension with a beefier sway bar. It's going to have power steering from an Astro van and a rear sway bar as well. The stock suspension works excellent, is nice and tight and has disc brakes. The Astro steering box will be more responsive compared to the stock manual box and therefore I'd like a little better handling. The stock one is 3/4" . Is it even worth the hassle?
    Thnx,
    Tom

  3. 49ratfink, I've seen a kit that was made a few years ago and sold on Ebay. I don't think it's still being sold. The guy that is doing mine is doing a similar idea/process. When it's running, I'll share photos of how it went...bad, good or indifferent.
