This beautifully chopped Merc is appropriately named "The Blank Slate." Pick this car up today and drive it to your favorite cruise in tonight. Or lock yourself in the garage this winter and really make it your own. The hard work has all been done so You can do all of the fun and creative stuff. First of all, the chop. It was done in the mid 1980's and a damn fine job they did. The dimensions are spot on. The trim has all been shaved and all the metal work is done (No Rust). The underside was acid washed and undercoated front to back. The body work has been roughed in and 5 coats of white Versaprime sealer has been shot. Eventually paint is an option but the sealer will keep the elements off of it until then. Next, the drive train. A 1971 Oldsmobile 455 Big Block (stock) bolted to an aluminum powerglide with a Dana 88 rear end motivates this beast. The brakes have been upgraded to power assisted and the booster and master cylinder have been relocated up under the frame (access through a hatch in the rear floor board). It stops just fine. I'd feel comfortable letting my wife or kid drive it, no problem. The bumpers have fresh chrome. The custom interior is a combination of '65 mustang seats. the front buckets are on swivels, making them "captains" seats. Simple yet effective door and kick panels emblazoned with the mercury logo plus new insulation and carpeting make for a clean and cozy interior. Custom side pipes look and sound great. This car steers straight and true. It starts up first crank every time. With the brand new 20 circuit wiring harness the electrical options are limitless; door poppers, air bags, AC etc. Currently only the headlights, tail lights, brake lights and ignition circuits are hooked up leaving 16 more circuits for you to use as you please. I also have a set of micro gauges hooked up to monitor voltage, oil pressure and temperature. Clean Florida title in hand.
