I'm installing a 351 Windsor in my 51 Ford car and a C4 transmission. I installed an IFS Mustang II type suspension with the rack and pinion steering and a new cross member kit. I would like some pictures of a installation to aid me. I did a test fit today and it looks like I won't be able to use the front sump oil pan. Before I buy a rear sump pan I would like to hear from someone that has done this installation.
You will need the rear sump. I put a 351W into my '51 F1, and there was not near enough room for a front sump. I am ***uming you have a car, and not a truck, so that info may not be much help too you, but there is not much difference in engine placement between the two.
You need the so called Econoline pan from the 1980s - that's what I used on the 302/5.0 in my 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery. I run the stock exhaust manifolds.
