    I have a 51 fordor ford "custom".....
Looking for ideas on cutomizing it.....ideas for a headlight switch?? (i am converting to 12v)....i was told 1957 ford truck.

I heard I can flip the front spindles to slam it....TRUE?? I added a 3' block in back.

It has 14" rims...are these original? (i can get some 15")

I broke my thermostat housing...what other ford ones will fit?

What weatherstrip can i use to have no chrome.....do i have to buy a new one....or is there a universal?

Anyone ever remove the vent windows on a fordor?

It has a flathead....has a dual point mallory...how hard are they to set??

Im just kinda picking peoples brains to get ideas...id like to have a cool fordor...driver.

I flipped the spindles on my fordor and it's slammed as hell. you do need to watch out for a couple of things, It really affects your camber (rakes the tops way in giving you negative camber) and if you just use the eccentrics to bring the tops in and push the bottoms out you will camber you kingpin angle outward , giving you positive angle at the kingpin. This causes instability in corners and also will exaggerate the bumpsteer that occurs naturally in a 51.

To fix it, I flipped the spindle uprights (The part that gives you almost 3" of drop) then i also flipped the spindles themselves in the uprights. This gave me positive camber on the wheel and neutral camber in the kingpins, so I then used the eccentrics to pull the tops in and push the bottoms out and voila, I now have neutral camber at the wheels and negative camber at the kingpins. (this gives me good tracking in the corners, and doesn't exacerbate the bumpsteer.)

you will have to use your grinder or bench grinder to get the steering arms back in behind the spindle. I believe I also flipped my steering arms to avoid having the tie-rods collide with the frame
