Good Morning! A question about my 1951 Ford F2, I had my clutch arm lever break right at the floorboard. The clutch pedal shares a pivot shaft with the brake pedal down by the clutch housing. I did a quick search and didn't find any options for a replacement. Think I am going to have to salvage one, or rebuild the one I have? I plan to do whatever is necessary, but wondering if anyone has had this problem remedied. Thanks
That setup is a real popular swap for earlier Ford hot rods so guys tend to pull them off and save them when they find them. This is the one off a 52 F1 chassis that I bought, pulled the crossmember, pedals shock brackets and a few more pieces off and then sold to a kid redoing his F1 that had a botched frame. The good thing is that after you take the pedal pads off the whole thing unbolts from the crossmember with three bolts so you can get it out on the bench to work on it. . The cross shaft is held in with a pin marked with the arrow in the second photo. That pin is staked on the bottom and you will have to take a file to it to get it to where you can drive the pin out. Not a great photo but circled in the third photo. You are probably going to have to buy the whole pedal assembly though unless someone who has pulled one off when they changed to automatic has it laying around. I'd think all F series trucks from 49to 52 are going to have the same pedals and linkage.
Is it possible for you to pull it off and have it welded? I have the one off my '50 F1 and it can be had quite reasonably. PM me if you have any questions
