Hello fellow H.A.M.B.ER'S, I'm new to the site as a poster but been around a long time as a reader. I'm in the process of building my first truck which is a 51 f1. I've finished the front brake conversion and now I'm at the back and starting to do the rear swap. I purchased a 91 ford explorer rear and I'm not sure on the install. From the research I gathered this was suppose to be a good swap. Looking at the housing it is off set and I'm not sure as I was told no more than 2 degrees up and no more than 5 degrees off set. What I would like to know is, am I on the right track or am I going about this all wrong. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Are there any f1 owners in the East Michigan area near lapeer? I would like to hear from you.

You posted in the wrong forum ... this is for questions and suggestion on the board itself, not automotive related stuff =)
I have a 49 f1 with an Explorer 8.8. Mine is a 1999 axle. I installed it with a TCI leaf spring kit. The kit mounts the springs under the axle to lower the truck and the kit is bolt on (great because I can't weld) I bought spring pads and u bolts from currie enterprise (8.8 have 3 inch axle tubes). I installed my per the instructions in the kit (5 degrees up) and no problems at all. I'm running it with disc brakes, classic performance disc kit up front on a stock axle, flathead v8 and a t5 trans. Works great!! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

Hey Mike Kilger any chance you could send me my refund for the 32 K-Member I paid you for over 2 years ago that you never shipped and won't reply to my phone calls or emails ???
Thanks guys for the input! One more question, How and where did you get the vacuum for the power brake booster on the flathead 8. The vacuum fitting below the carb is to small to get the vac I need.
You will either need to go to a hydraulic power booster or get an electric vacuum pump setup. If you have a PS pump on the engine then the choice will be easier.
