As an owner of a 55 F600, I can tell you that there is no practical reason to keep it on that frame. You can get an aftermarket rolling ch***is and it will bolt right on. I got a donor 1 ton for my own reasons. If you go that route, the older frames will be straighter. Probably have to make your own mounts but it seems it would be easier to work with.
