    Hello gentlemen

I’ve the tag below on my shoebox and I don’t seem to find - or maybe understand - what is correct color for the year. The seems to be painted in a light blue color (I have added a picture from the interior which seems to be more preserved). The remaining digits I could find some more information but the color remains a mistery.

    Can somebody please help out?

    Thanks in advance.

You need to look at places like under interior panels, under trim or rubber.... places like that.
That is overspray on the dash.
All 1951 dashes were a matte grey from the factory regardless of the body color.
You can see overspray on the firewall tag.
Older paint codes are difficult to cross reference before 1953.

I would look for body paint in hidden areas.
That blue color is obviously a repaint so I would not trust it.

That is not a tag I have ever seen on a 51 ford. Neither is a 150mph speedometer!

    Probably in kilometers/hr, not mph.

Canada didn't adopt the metric system until 1970 so it's not a Canadian car.

    Hello gentlemen!

Thanks a lot for the replies. Tomorrow or Wednesday I’m gonna take a look under the dash and let you know if there is anything different. The car has been stopped under the weather for a couple of years and it will need a careful wash as the door windows seals are gone.

I’m gonna install a y block 292 coupled with a F-100 “clark type” 240F from our F-100 V8 - kind of rare and expensive to find the configuration that was used with Mavericks and Dodges down here.

Yes, the speedo is in km/h maybe it was an export version?

I’m trying to keep the original stuff as much as possible as the car is quite complete, and would appreciate to have it done back on its original color.

Cheers from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

What about Mexico, Central America or South America
Edit, now I see you are from Brazil so there you have it! Sweet ride and love the speedometer!!

OP is from Brazil so that probably accounts for a number of things.

Sorry I didn’t manage to to the car parking as weather was a bit bad and lots of things to solve :(

I understand these matte gray would be center part of the dash (which has the gauges) and then the rest painted? I was looking at the ad’s from back in the day and they show a painted dash. Or I shouldn’t base myself on the ad’s as they might have some freedom on the drawings?

Online also I could find the 51 convertible, supposedly Alpine Blue, but with a brown interior.

Color is being harder than it looked LOL.

Thanks to everyone for all replies.

    ^^^Alpine Blue

    For American cars......
The entire dash was a matte grey with the insert panel being a matte silver. Really the insert panel is perforated bright metal.

    Superb ride man!

As I’m staying with the original color scheme, I think I’ll really keep it blue and just select between Alpine, Culver and Sheridan blue with the matte grey dash.

Sheridan I’m not sure it was so common at the time as I found more on trucks rather cars.

It’ll done kind of slowly as I have another money consuming friend… 65 F-100 Brazilian Fridge Body.

Silver tone Gray is a strange color.
It looks like a light blue
It looks like a light green
    It looks like a gray
I believe it and.........Sea Island Green are very close but still different.

In trying to read a color from a sample card it’s very easy to get these two colors mixed up.

    Sheridan is dark almost Navy
    Alpine is a “baby blue”.
