Hot Rods 1951 Mercury Coil

Need advice in regards to my Mercury, I believe I have a Mallory YC distributer and a Mallory DSM coil. Can someone tell me what would be a good replacement coil if mine QUITS ?? Also should there be a condenser on the coil to help with the life of the points in the distributer ?? I am running an 8 volt battery. Thanks for any advice Bob
