I have a 1951 Mercury coupe with a 1951 Merc 4door frame under it now that is okay shape but not great. I ran across a 1949 Mercury 4 door frame that is very nice shape. Would I run not any issues swapping the 49 frame to the 51 or would I be better off keeping the 51 and repairing the bad area? appreciate and help I can get.

Thank you. I had heard there was a difference between 49 and 51 but that’s minimal. I appreciate you taking the time to help.

    Is the frame bent?

No it isn’t. Actually both are in decent shape Randy. I have a 51 coupe body I’m going to sell that is on the 51 frame and a 49 rolling frame that is on a trailer. I was hoping the 49 frame would work on the 51 Merc coupe so I did not have to try and swap the body back from the 51 frame to the 49.
