The front engine seal on the 239 straight six in my 1951 Pontiac Chieftain has started leaking. I am having trouble finding a replacement?

Try California Pontiac Restoration at http://www.pontiacparts.net I only took a brief look at their online catalog and found a total gasket set for the straight six, but call them and ask if they have just the front seal - they don't necessarily have everything listed online. I've dealt with them in the past and was happy with their service.

Do you know the diameters involved. I could look it up in the National Seal catalog. Seals is seals. They don't know if they are for a Pontiac or what ever.

Ok I found a front cover gasket set that's made by Best Gasket. The front oil seal is actually made out of cork and so is the cover gasket.
