What did he do to the rear quarters? Is it what I think he did to get the wheels inside???

Yeah, he's taking a lot of heat for that. If it were me, I'd have chosen a donor with a similar track width. A mid 80's Mercedes 380SEL or '07 BMW X5 would fit just about perfectly. Dude should've done his research first!
