I just bought a pile of parts and cars, A 1952 Super Riviera that a tree fell on, its rust free basically. I will be using the 1950 deck lid and part of the right quarter. It came with a convertible header and doors. So now for the fun I can't start on it for three months till I get the new garage add on done, but in the meantime I am daydreaming like a madman, chopped of course, convertible, lift off top, take the roof off of the 1950 Roadmaster to make it a hardtop again, I am going to use the Roadmaster rear quarters for sure I like the long low trim and they are almost flawless. Time to dump the Sloper and do a car more my style.
Sounds like a neat project, can't wait to see it unfold! Was it also on the coast, or did you find it further inland? Rust doesn't look too bad.
I think it came from Eastern Washington, floors are perfect not rust out anywhere. The 1950 Super was stripped then sat, too bad. The special roof cut won't fit but will save another Buick some day. The 1950 has a Camaro sub, and a 79 ish malibu rear with arms and all grafted . The front subframe look very nice seamless must have been some one with skills. The straight 8 is rebuilt I think I will roll the stock ch***is for a while.
So with the torque tube eliminated, and the straight 8 still there, what trans will you run? That's pretty cool that so much of the hard work is already done, and done well.
The 1952 was a driver all stock with a rebuilt engine/dynaflush, and the 1950 super has the done ch***is but the body was stripped and let to sit and has surface rust now, I think Im gonna run with the stock stuff for now.
