I have searched here and found no info on who makes a kit to drop a 350/350 combo in a 1952 ford f1. I found some but are for 302, 351 ford but no chevy! Anyone know of someone or a place that makes one? Also if anyone has pictures of rearend setups on dropped 49-52 ford trucks that would be cool.
Dude, sorry I haven't e-mailed you yet. I've been busy working on my truck. I have attached a few pix of the rear suspension and a side view of the stance. I have a 350/350 combo in mine (not proud of it) but it was in it when I got the truck. My engine mount is a saddle style. The mount bolts to the front of the engine, and then sits on the stock flathead mounts at the frame. I would not recommend it, if you plan on running power steering. I had to fab a 1off p/s pump bracket. I would try the nolimitengineering web site. They deal with a lot of early ford truck kits, from suspension to steering. I would bet they have a kit for this engine and trans. combo. Jay
I put a 350/350 combo in my other 52 F-1 utilizing a front saddle mount from Speedway that uses the existing flathead motor mounts. For the transmission I used the one in the Speedway catalog that says its for 53 to 56 Ford F-100 trucks using either a Ford or Chevy transmission. Now the only problem you'll likely encounter is that you'll have to remove the center cross member/trans mount in order to mount the new trans cross member. You can also adapt a 53 to 56 Ford F-100 brake pedal setup to use in place of the original one that attached to the now non existent cross member. If you have any other questions just shoot me a PM and I'll gladly help you out.
lol come on now ........ I do have options i have a 302 out of a thunderbird and the 350 I wanted the 350 because it has less miles on it and is has more HorsePower already but whats your opinion?
love the stance thats what I want! what size of tires are you running? Also if I run a 350 do i need to modify the oil pan? If I run a 302 do I need special mods too?
The front has 205/70 r15, the rear 235/70r15. The front rims are 8" ( might rub when I get an alignment) the rear are 9" with a reverse offset. There is no mods to the oil pan, BUT as said in our pm. I have a volare front clip.
My opinion? Nobody will look twice at your truck with the tired old 350/350 combo. Be creative and build up a flathead. Not as much HP for the buck, but when was the last time someone used all that HP on the street? Class doesn't follow the lemmings!
