So, Im picking up a free gyromatic transmission from a '52 Dodge this evening. Owner says the throw out bearing is bad, but otherwise it works fine. Is there anything I should check on it? Should I try to get the shifter also?

Dont have anything to put it in, but Im getting it for driving up to pickup an engine from the same car for a friend. Figured maybe Id teach myself to fix up transmissions with it.

    Are these things worth anything?

LOL! And that's the really important thing, isn't it???

But you're right of course. It's almost as cool a name as "Ultra-Matic".

Yeah it's too bad they're better known by their nickname, which is Clunk-O-Matic.
