i've working on mild custom shit to a 1953 ford 4door...I've recently De-chromed the entire car and getting ready to start fillin' holes and smoothing her out. MY QUESTION IS: There is a chrome accent trim pressed into the front and rear window seal (the seals still look pretty good) as I started pulling it out I realized there is a lip on the trim the goes under the glass DOES THE CHROME TRIM LOCK IN THE GLASS or IS JUST A NON FUNCTIONING ACCENT PIECE. Thanks
on a `49 ford i was working in , the stainless trim on the front windshield rubber was just decorative ..it did not lock the front windshield in
There is a groove in the rubber seal that the chrome trim is encased in.The chrome trim is installed in the groove before you put the rubber seal in the window opening.
they have different rubbers available. 1 for trim and 1 without trim. I am working on a 53. good luck CADILLAC DAVE
