Hey I've got a 1953 buick special two door hard top that I recently picked up. I want to turn this into a semi-kustom but keep the majority of the car stock as far as drivetrain/suspensions are concerned. Some of the things I want to do include lowing the car as much as possible via dropped spindals/kingpins/cutting coils, getting a split intake/exhaust manifold for the straight eight, and I'd love to find some bubble fender skirts that follow the lines of the trim on the side of the car. I was just wondering if anyone that has had some experience kustomizing these old buicks had any advice, suggestions, pictures, anything to help me decide how to go about starting this project. Thanks.
Good Name to Make Friends With.... The first question you gotta ask yourself is: "Do I wanna built a Kustom or a Custom?" BYC
I did a 53 hardtop last year. Had a 263 with the split factory exhaust and 3x2 homemade in take. I made my own bubble skirts out of glass.I put 56 caddy dagmar bumpers on it too. I have pictures but don't know how to post them. TP
[ QUOTE ] Nuttin' here but us shiteaters. [/ QUOTE ] I resemble that remark. Well first thing I'd do is paint it purple, stranger. The I'd off the buford and put a 307 in its place, with a powerglide. Gawd why do I feel like a possum right now. Now on a lighter note, I got away with posting without an intro for a real long time, but I think everyone took a look at my name and figured I was an old fart. They were right of course, these guys got a lot of insite. So, I won't hammer ya,but lets know a little about ya. Other than your handle that is.

Except for the 307 part (which must represent walnuts, which don't belong in cookies), I think you're right!
