1953 caddy hydromatic help

    The ****** feels like it is shifting too early from 2nd to 3rd and falls on its face. I have to let off the throttle for it to shift into 3rd. Please help with any info on fixing the issue would be a big help. Don't know if a rebuild is needed.

    Chances are the TV rod going from carb to transmission is in need of adjustment. Sounds like it is adjusted to short. If adjusted short, the transmission will stay in gear and try to "hunt" for a shift point that will never happen unless you lift off the throttle.
