I have the original radiator in my 53 customline. My question is can I have this cleaned up and use it on the front of my SB chevy motor? What is the cost of something like this done? I just really like the old br*** top and would love to be able to use it. Thanks, Scot

I have the original radiator in my '53 Chevy with a 350. I had it recored with a "high efficiency" core. I don't know if it would have cooled enough with the original core.
Is the Customline a 6-cylinder car? If so, the core probably won't be up to cooling the V-8. But any competent radiator shop should be able to put your original tanks on a nice, new core and give you the best of both worlds. Shouldn't cost more than a couple hundred bucks total.
On the other hand, if they boil it out and there aren't any leaks you could try it out and if it does not cool well enough you can always pull it back out and get it re-cored then.
Just depends on how tight your budget is vs. how willing you are to do it twice.
