Yes the car came dual carbs and those #s are on the carbs and thank you I will look into it and hopefully can resolve this and yes I just might take it in but wanted to give it a shot first again thank you
So, evidently you have reclaimed the screw that fell inside the dist ? It's always a good thing to report back to the HAMB on what you did; it helps others in similar cir***stances. While you're at NAPA, get one of these https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/SER2282 You'll be glad you did. There are other brands available too.
Sorry Gatz I thought I had posted about getting the screw out and got the '53 up and running and yes looks like might not be a bad little investment there
@Crisjr14 speaking of ‘good investments’.....get yourself a factory Shop Manual for your Dodge. They can be found as original survivors and as reprints (www.faxon.com). An invaluable aid in maintaining and repairing your Dodge. As for the OD cable...it DOES NOT go to a carburetor. It goes to the transmission, if you are fortunate enough to have a manual trans with overdrive. Not a common item but desirable. Another item that will be covered in the factory Shop Manual. Best wishes from another old Mopar guy..... Ray
Hnstray thank you for the tip and yes I am going to order me one of those manuals from all the responses seems like it will save me alot headaches
I checked the mounting (flange) gasket on the D6G1 (Plymouth) carburetor. Carter 1A-46 Original material - asbestos Original thickness - (2) 0.055 stapled together for a thickness of 0.110 Comment - difficult to make one Ball & Ball carburetor run well. Trying to use two of them is, at best, EXTREMELY challenging, IF you are a carburetor expert! Trying to use two different is like giving someone a baseball bat and asking to be hit in the head! https://www.thecarburetorshop.com/Service_Carter_BB_downdraft_late.pdf https://www.thecarburetorshop.com/Service_Carter_BB_downdraft_issues.pdf Jon.
