Jon83 the Dodge is coming along great... I have to study how you did your solenoids on the doors... noticed you did the Nova subframe. I am looking to changing the springs on the Royal. Right now it has heated coils, I know the shoebox guys use Astro springs on theirs to lower them. Does anybody know if the Astro springs will work on the Dodges?

Don't know if it'd be something that you'd like, but check out the 46-8 Dodges(or other early Dodges), the center brake light was the only brake light on them. Or for that mater the same year tail lights so all three would be similar.

  3. They aren't astro van springs they are ford Aerostar springs and yes, they do work on our mopars. The moog part number is CC850

thanks, ill look into the brake light. Luckily the sub frame and rear end were put in before i got this car. As far as the solenoids.. i guess you could just put it right below the latch instead of using more cable and a pulley. I just didnt want extra weight that far away from the hinges.

I don't have any installed yet. The doors seem to pop open themselves just enough to pull the door open. I may be able to put them in the space I still have to fill in on the b post, where the old latch was. when I get off work I should post more pics of the door loom/wiring and manual pull cable stuff.

More photos of the door looms used ( two for the passenger) and where i stuffed all the electronic stuff for the door solenoids. The exposed windshield wiper motor was the previous owners idea.. i liked it, so it stayed. Exposed transmission would be neat too.. but im sure would get quite hot.

Any thoughts on how to repair this part of the trunk? All i have so far for tools is some basic metal hammers, dollies, mig welder, bead roller, grinder, and just got a shrinker/stretcher...oh and a table top sheet metal bender.

Ya need to make a new "z" flange & roll it to fit the round corner. Then weld it to the inside of the body.

Since you don't have a set of rolls you might consider just having someone roll that "z" for you

Ohh...I see you do have a roller. You just need to do the setup to make the z then.

(Hmmm...the "strikeout" function doesn't seem to work on this forum.)

i have a roller.. but no tipping dies yet.. i think ill have to do it someday in two pieces. I can make the "C" shape, but more squared, with the table top bender. but i can only bend one way. so the C+7 shape..if that makes sense using the keyboard, i cant get.

Oh, yes, I see now the shape is more like a question mark.

yes a question mark would be the easier explanation. Im just going to have to do It in two pieces if needed replace anything below that channel area. Now how do I make the curve? hmm.

most recent photo.. and my attempt at learning window tinting.

If anyone else has any photos, modifications, builds, ect of this car please chime in.. i just started the thread, I don't own it. There doesn't seem to be too many out there. Just thought I could help people with ideas on what to do with theirs, or what not to do based on where I'm going with this.

more patching. welds look like keloid scars. Of course i dive into stuff like this without taking before pictures. Let just say there was a lot of rust holes aka car cancer.

Anyone have any pics of a dodge coronet with bomber or bucket seats? or a 50's chevy 210 with bucket or bomber seats? Would like to see what they look like.

Tired of sanding so went away with the bare metal and primed it for the winter.. No pics of buckets for ya.. If I channeled it and raised the center hump I would definitely go buckets though...

Looking great. I think im going to do it.. eventually. I am going to put in Bomber style seats. Tired of sliding around ( even with the added seat belts ) and I want a center area to hold stuff and to be able to slide the seat up and down. I'm jealous of your tires and wheels btw.
