Hi, everyone I just purchased a 53 rust bucket f250 to rod out. I'm trying to do it on a 3000 dollar budget as a running, driving, painted truck. I want to lower it some and found drop springs and axles used for a f100 and wanted to know if they would bolt up. The f100 is the same year. The axle I measured and found it to be the same width as whats under my truck but didn't measure the springs yet. Any help would be great.

    Thanks and Merry Christmas.

I know the cab and sheet metal is the same, but I believe the frame is heavier. The wheel track would probably be the same though. I had a 54 F100 that I put a mustang front suspension on, that's the only way to go. You get rid of all the handling and ride issues that come from the straight axle and leaf springs.

According to the Ford Truck Parts Catalog, the 7 leaf spring from a regular duty F-250 was also used in a H.D. F-100 ('53-'55). So I would assume you can use the F-100 springs-bolt in. You sure don't want the stiff ones out of the 250.
