    Hey everyone,
I'm finally to the point of wiring up my '53 mercury and I'm wondering if anyone can help me with the location of the relays, switches, and regulator? When I got the car all the wiring was ripped out or chewed up by mice and my wiring diagram I have doesn't tell the location of things. So if anyone could help me or shoot me a link to a page that could help that would be great.

if you are not doing 100% restoration do a search here for threads on recommended aftermarket wiring kits - also, get of a very good booklet that covers a lot of basics - How To Wire Your Streetrod ( do not let name scare you off) by Jack Sweeden available through speedwaymotors.com and others

  3. Are you using a harness kit? This is the best way to go. The Rebel 9 + 3 is a good one, Kwik Wire 14 circuit is good. Figure out where you want the fuse panel, mock up your dash and other breakouts on a piece of plywood and crank out a harness for yourself.

I'm just wiring up the stock 6 volt system for now, I plan to upgrade to a 12 volt later on when I have more money and after I move. I'm mainly just wiring up everything I need to get it driving and I'm building my own wiring harness and using the stock relays, switches, and regulator if they are still working properly
