I have a line on a olds 88, but would like to hear from the mind meld on a few things. The car runs and has a pretty solid body. I'm not looking to make any money on it, but I would like to have the Engine and Tranny out of it and then sell off parts recoupe my expenses. 53 a good year? Is there a need for 88 parts?
Thanks for the heads up on the tranny. I would just tear the rig down for the engine and running gear. No more needed projects so far..
I need a ring and pinion for a 53. I blew mine in my 23 c cab. Cannot find the gears anywhere so if you part give me a buzz
I might be interested in it if it could be shipped to ohio cheap as I have a rebuilt 56 324 and a stick setup waiting to go into something. Jeff
Personally, if it's a pretty nice car, regardless of whether it's a two door or a four door, it seems a shame to buy it and part it out. I part out lots of cars, but only the ones that aren't worth saving. There has to be tons of Olds motors laying around, especially if you're going to rebuild it. I'd rather not see that happen, but it's up to you if you want to do it. I'd have a hard time pillaging a decent car.
Excellent year for parts demand. I will buy the upper grille (moustache) chrome which is the center piece and 2 end pieces. Can be good core condition or driver condition.
