do I need to switch to disc brakes in order to bag the car or can I leave it drum and still bag it? Kinda curious if there is any clearance issue with the drum and bag mount

Itd be best to go disc just as a practical improvement. Not sure how there would be any interference if you use the stock A arms and spring locations for the bags.

  3. you shouldn't have any problems as far as I know using the stock drum brakes, hit me up when you decide to do bags I'll get you a good deal..I just about finished the website tonight a few final touches tomorrow and it'll be up and running

Shave the chrome, door handles, and trim, lower the lid, lower it all the way bags are perfect, and round the corners on all the doors/tunklid ect. :D

I'm in the process of pulling the springs and shocks so I can get an idea of where the ride height is going to be. I am also gathering parts to put together the 305 so I can begin to mock up the motor

thanks Justin, I'll def. do that. I've debated just running bags in the rear with a c notch and just doing dropped spindles and lowering springs in the front.

Justin already "shaved" pretty much all the chrome for me before I bought it lol, but I do plan on keeping the hood/decklid trim. A chop this fall and bags when I can afford them

I just hope the beautiful stainless on the hood and trunk are not eliminated. The biggest boo-boo in customizing the tin indian. Good Luck with the ride bro. ~Sololobo~

I haven't touched the car in quite a while; can't justify putting money into it since I don't have a job right now. All of my free time is spent doing homework and job hunting...I have a lead on a good job so if that pans out I will be able to get back to work on the Poncho, but until then, it sits.

I have a '52 Pontiac that I'm making a traditional custom out of. I really like the 54 Mercury tailights. If you build the surround for them and french them a bit (1 inch) they work really well with the lines of the car. A bit more radical might be the Packard lights from a 57 Packard, one right side up and the other upside down butted up to the bottom of it.
