so i am almost ready to mount my body back on the frame, BUT.....i cant seem to find anything that looks close to the bolts and nuts for mounting the body. someone else took the car apart and i have found everything but that hardware. i dont have an issue getting new stuff, but i want to know what size and the specifics for the harware. (nuts, bolts, washers) i will most likely just go to a fastner place to get it all. does anyone know what i need, and how many of each??? any help is much appreciated. or if someone could snap a photo of their bolts so at least i know what they look like so i could look again? thanks guys!! Jason
You'd be best off to research a body mounting kit which includes all new correct fasteners and rubber mounts in one poly bag. Might be a bit more expensive, but you'll know it's done right.
I do have the mount pads that are in excellent shape, so i really dont want to buy new ones since these are so nice. i just want the hardware. i will check and see what i can find for a complete kit.
Mac's has the kits, I can't remember if the pads came with the hardware for my '56, or if I got them separately. Check their catalog or website. If you have a Ford parts catalog they should be shown but you might have to look up each piece to get the size, etc. May be a bit time consuming but it should help you identify all the pieces you need. raceron1120- thanks for the link, now that i see what the hardware looks like, i know that i have most of that stuff, and i was trying identify what all that was for this weekend when i was going through the parts! now i just need to lay it all out and see how many of what i have, and where it all goes. the previous owner also had bout the ford parts manuals for 49-59 ford cars (which is like a bible) so i can go through there and see how it all works. thanks again!!!
