I know you fellas can help here with research and any help would be very appreciated. Photos are from 1954 Bonneville and that is the Motor Trend magazine panel in front of the car also the gentlemen sitting in the car is Bob and John McAdam I believe from Burlingame and San Mateo. The pickup painted Candy Apple red has a tube chassis and the car turned full show car in 1958 and was shown at the 1960 National Roadster in Oakland by Joe Schwede from San Mateo and he installed a 1956 Corvette engine with every item you could take off the car chromed all the way down to the lug nuts. Thank you.
Here’s a brief mention of the car by the owner, Bob McAdam. I think calling the paint “candy apple red”on that early of a hot rod is a misnomer, Joe Bailon didn’t perfect his candy red until 1956. Titian Red is more likely but it could have been any shade of red.
