Recently purchased this 54 Buick and it had these Edmunds valve covers on it.I can find no information on these as to date of production or value.the signature looks almost like it was scratched in with a stick.Any info would be much appreciated!! Thanks!
The nailhead came out in 1953 and Edmunds was done by the mid 50s I think..so they were only produced for a couple years max, 70 years ago. Any overhead V8 Edmunds stuff is pretty rare and as far as value..about as much as a pair of valve covers can be worth.
1954-55 vintage. Since they don't have an oil fill port and/or PCV valve fitting, only useful with early valley covers.
I was responding to the OPs question and talking about Edmunds valve covers. That there was only a window of a couple years max between the nailhead introduction and Edmunds going kaput. Buick made nailhead engines till 1966.
Right. Edmunds sold out to Fenton in 1955. Although Fenton modified some of the Edmunds molds with a Fenton logo instead, Fenton valve covers for Buick nailheads are a different creature, so the Edmunds covers are indeed quite rare.
