Alright as some of you might know i've been working on a "53/54" ford coupe that i've had for awhile now. i Mocked up the 289 small block that is going into it for a final fit and one of my friends said that i needed to flip the ch***is mounts "sideways" to except the later model year motor mount. I looked into this further and i see no need to do that as it would be simpler too grind the welds and move it down a cupple of inches and then braise them with a oxy/ac torch. what are you thought on this. I don't want to start cutting until i know the right way. i know someone on here has used the stock mounts before let me know what you did please.. the sooner the better.
I got motor mounts from www.ndgearheadscruiserproducts.com frank was very helpful over there he really is a 50's ford guy he sent me some pics of his 52 ford nice car. I had no problems with mine just added a small shim to raise motor and cut out a small section of the stock mounts to clear exhaust
