I was wondering what other changes a powerglide 1954 chevy belair had besides having a powerglide transmission? i overheard someone looking at a 1954 belair say the trunk was not origianl b/c it had powerglide emblems. but how would one know it was or wasnt a real powerglide?

also in 1954 chevy made a couple versions of the belair including the door pillar version and one without a door pillar. is one version more rare or desirable? personally i like the door pillar. thanks in advance, i tried to do a search , thanks for helping TFNG.,.

  3. The powerglide option also gives you hydraulic lifters, a few more hp, and a 3.55 gear....and the powerglide emblem on decklid. Hardtops are generally more desirable than the 2-door sedans, but to each their own.

My '54 'Glide HT had the trans support X-member bolted in, other stick '54's I have, the X was rivetted.
