My pops is putting a '53 Desoto bumper on his '50 Merc and he noticed that regular bumper bolts don't fit flush with the mounting surface. Does anyone know if these bumpers used unique bumper bolts, and if so, where to get them?

    Thanks in advance,

    Duck

    **edit: it's a 53....

I seem to remember something about a triangle shaped bolt head I think. I could be wrong though. Sorry I couldn't help ya out more. later plmczy

I dunno what "regular" bumper bolts are really, but on my '47 Chrysler the bolts were kind of shaped like Pringles, but round. That way they fit into the curve of the bumper.

You can get them from Restoration supply in PA. Pricey, about $6 each, but they have them.
