Are there any upgraded spindle options for a 1954 ford crestliner? newer model spindles off something else? anything? Im having a hard time finding any information for spindles. Any help would be appreciated.
Tell us what you want to do. Install disc brakes, lower, or do you need a pair because you have none.
I did try the nz equivalent of Granada spindles and ended up with bump steer on or 54 Victoria. But worked great on our 57 ford. So it would pay to check for bump steer before you fit the springs !I think ours was around 3/4" or more. I ended up using the rear rotors of a mid eighties ford as they bolt on to the original hub. I had to fabricate a bracket to fit wildwood calipers as these were the only ones small enough to fit inside the 15" chromies.
has anyone added a manual rack to the front of the cross member to run front stear spindles like off a 80-2000 panther platform? aka crownvic/towncar?
just got a 53 used 88 aurostar rotors gm metric calibers 79..81 mustang master.. got the basic kit from eci in conn.. for 200.00
what where the calipers off of? caprices-s10s? you just had to fab a braket for the caliper correct? any chances you got a pic of that braket to have an idea?
Fatman Fabrications makes a dropped spindle for the '54 Ford, the p***enger side spindle on our wagon was the reason the car was parked so many years ago. They work great. HRP
Fatman dropped spindles would be a great idea. We cut our coils 1 turn , but it must be due to the a arm pivot point design with only 1 turn cut off we were on the bump stops, so they went in the trash.
