Sure would be interesting to see photo's of what the car looked like back when the custom paint was applied.

What's the plan for the wagon? HRP

Cool car, hopefully you can find some history on it.

Was it a Country Sedan or a Country Squire?

What little is left of that paint screams late 60's early 70s's. That poor soul has been abandoned and unloved for a long time! Show her some love and do something nice with her. Larry

how do I find out country squire or sedan? prob the data plate. for now just see if I can get it running....gas down carb (primer)runs good.. rebuilt carb and the 6v elec fuel pump, gas tank being cleaned get it back Tuesday... I think I found the proper water pump, turns out this motor is a 1 year only, darn ford always change something every year ….. prob primer the fenders rust red surf stickers/board/racks check brake system new tire's and drive...we will see, this is car 31, or something like that.. I have a weakness on old cars.. and a big yard.

The 239 looks the same as the other y blocks but very little interchanges.

Intake, heads, distributor and water pump are all different from the 272/292/312 y blocks.

Luckily the later y blocks swap right and that leaves the removed 239’s available for parts. I’ve still got the complete 239 from my ‘54 Country Squire, too bad yours so far away.

Also note that the front brakes and rear end on a wagon are different than a coupe or sedan. Watch out when buying parts.

The Country Squire had wood grain down the side and the Country sedan didn't, the car looks as though it did have wood grain on the rear quarter. HRP

It does look like wood grain, but a Squire wouldn’t have the chrome on the door.
I think it’s a county sedan with wood grain painted on.

if you look close you can see the fibergl*** mold it is proud of the panel.and the woodgrain 3M is showing also more likely someone added the chrome(stainless)for more bling it is a custom after all

You make a good point, but it was customized, if the patent plate is still attached it could shed light on it's origin. HRP
