  1. I have two questions.

In post 141 your bag looks like it is close or touching the plate. if it is it will fail early.

In post 151 your exhaust ends up? did you allow a place for water to escape. water will fall in there from the environment and your motor puts out steam that will pool in there if no where to go. a small drain hole will allow the water to escape and should not change your sound, but will help it not rot out.

    your truck is looking great.

  2. 3/8'' - 1/2'' clearance around the bags, no issues.
and yes theres a 3/16'' hole drilled for rain to drain,

    thanks! its coming along.

  3. nice! you have done a stellar job!

  4. been slowly getting a chance to work on it again, with a new carb it really woke it up. finally no delay! here a shot from the airport car show

  7. so i went ahead and got this little setup a week ago. its just sitting there. but it sure looks cool. need to drill and tap for a vacuum fitting for the booster. then ill set it up. Most of you probably think its a dumb move which it may be but hell ill give it a shot. sure looks cool!!:D

Kinda cool truck, but ya lost me with the RR touches... Get rid of that stuff and it would be pretty cool!

  12. rr touches? race ready?

  13. ..too bad you didn't get the wheels centered in the fenders.

  14. thanks for pointing out the obvious.:D

  15. ...I actually mentioned this at the very first part of your build.(post number 15)..to my eye, it just doesn't look rite, but it's your truck, not mine...

  16. from you and many more and when i put it together and mocked up the fender i thought i was alright.. but its back and ye it bothers me. but for now. shes stays

  23. really? who was it?

  24. no idea but if I find it again ill let you know. they didn't claim it to be their truck but that they wanted one like it. if they claimed it to be their truck and I knew it wasn't you, ill call them on it
    you on hipsta-grams?

  25. Been a few months since ive had thee ol' rod on the road- as i pulled the motor that was due for a rebuild. i head the block dipped and cleaned and cylinders re honed and the crank grinded as there was some wear and tear. i purchased a new 268 comp cam and lifters, the cylinder rings and and bearings. ive started to detail the motor and get it back together. over the next few days off work i look forward to getting it back in and running, future paint and lots of bead rolled steel will come next! heres a few shots:

motor here is just loosely mocked up, but you get the idea- cast iron flaked paint for the block and everything will be sanded with scotch bright pads to have a dull finish.. more progress coming shoon:D

  26. Looks great! But i liked the gold more betta!

  27. ahhh those are some rad pictures. looking good. keep up the good work and pics

  28. ive managed to get to get the new cam, crank and pistons all in block and heads painted, and a special treat. Glen from Adams polish showing a little demo- now i am not a fan of anything shinny and had sanded everything down with a scotch bright pad- but having seen the outcome of a little hand polishing. im happy to say it looks great! not shinny like chrome but just enough to make it look better. plus this will keep the dirt and dust off much better as well. more to come!
