Hey guys just curious if anyone has switched to a mustang dual master cylinder... if so did you use the stock shaft from pedal to master or the mustang one that is about a half inch shorter?
    Thanks,
    John

I used a master from a Crown Vic. I had to lengthen the pushrod about 3/8 inch. Remember, the pushrod has some adjustabilty. Look at the bolt where it goes on the pedal. Also, you will have two holes left over. Put bolts in there becasue they hold a bracket on under the dash. 5/16 fine I think.

This is one I have recommended many times over if you still have drums all around is from Autozone part# FENCO M1485 this is a rebuilt unit $29.99 ($16.99 w/ exchange)these will usually be a Bendix core the new master runs $45.99 your original pushrod will work fine. The master sold at O'Reillys has a pushrod in it and is the wrong length,if you have the master off take it with you for two reasons,#1 make sure the piston depth is the same,#2 you will need some adapter fittings and one of their 20" X 3/16" brake lines go up to the search up top and put in "master cylinder" you will find more info and pictures to help you.

When I did mine, the shaft that came with the M/C was short. I couldn't use the old shaft because the tip was well worn and tattered so I cut the tip off the new shaft and welded it to the old one at the proper length.

  5. make sure you don't put the new shaft into the M/C unless you're absolutely sure you're gonna use it and not your old shaft..the new ones have a locking mechanism and you'll never get it back out without screwing up the M/C

In my post above that is #1 reason you check the depth of the piston.

  9. i know cause i did it ha ha.. so i took the M/C back and got another this time i measured and ending up using my original brake pedal shaft. i did have to shorten it and then rounded off the cut. i'm so glad i put the 67 dual M/c in my car.

  10. hey jeff i'm gonna research the geo metro brake setup a little more. what pro's and con's do you have about it?

Well Rockabilly, all I can say is the guy with the Falcon is happy with it and the price is right and He did a good job explaining how the build was done,so I would give it a thumbs up.
