I've been searching around for a master cylinder for my 1955 Buick Century. The guy I bought it from must have taken it out and lost it.

It has power brakes, and the only replacements I can find are for non-power brakes.

Is there any other master cylinder that will fit and function properly? Or does anyone know where I can get a NEW one?

    Thanks!

I posted this in another thread and rather than type it all out again, I'll just copy and paste it. Feel free to PM me if you have questions. I've got prolly $50 in my '58 Olds brake master/pedal upgrade and it stops as well as any of our late models. There's a serious lack of kits for non-chevy 50s cars to make these swaps, but this is hot-rodding and doing it myself appealed to the miser in me. I had to make a pedal because the stock pedal ratio on a '58 Olds with power brakes is less than 1:1, you're gonna want ~6:1 for manual brakes. I like manual brakes, when the car dies, I still have brakes and, with the right ratio, they require very little pressure. Plus, it makes the vacuum drop associated with running three carbs less of an issue.

Try Rick eskew at "Brake Speciality " in Atlanta. 1-800-462-0062. EMail rick@bscparts.com. He's been in the brake business a long time.
