I have a friend that is looking for info on how to convert/upgrade the stock wiper system of his 55 Caddy to electric possibly removing the cable operated system as well.
    Thanks

Newport engineering has a pretty good product. I have had one in my 57 buick for 3 years now and never had a problem.

    Thanks Jab and Nick,
He is considering Newport engineering but his wiper transmission need rebuild, plus one of the wheelbox is broken so he is considering either rebuild and replace the broken one or trying to find out if someone has replaced all the system for this car with something different.
On my 54 chevy I replaced everything with a lucas motor and wheelboxes but unlikely the wheel boxes shaft of the lucas system are not long enough to go trough the cowl of his caddy.
    Thanks again

Specialty Power Windows, wipers will replace all the stock linkage, and can be set up any way you want.

Newport is the ONLY one that is a true bolt on install. They're kinda high, but def worth it.

The kit of SPW looks like the one I used. I'll contact this company to check how long is the shaft going through the cowl as the lucas one is not long enough.
In case is not long enough, Newport is the only alternative.
    Thanks again
