I’m about to install drop leaf springs on all 4 corners of my Wife’s 55 1st Series Truck. Is it possible to use the existing, probably original shackles? Or should I definitely be replacing the shackle assemblies? Any other advice while I’m in there? I’ve never replaced leaf springs in their entirety, mainly just dealt with lowering blocks and coil springs over the years. Thanks in advance!

Depends on whether they're worn out or not. And ''lowering springs'' aren't a good method for use on solid axle trucks. Look into dropping your axle - that way you'll still have some suspension travel.

There's also a bolt and bushing at the other end of the spring that wears out.
