Features 1955 Chevy Gassers Owners Wanted? Post them Pics!

I haven't read through all 33 pages, but, I've always dug the Hell out of this one...

Well maybe I am Mutt. But it bugs me when guys tell me about their BADASS gasser and I go to look at it and it's half done. It's got a badass motor, a 4spd, axle, roll bar, ....... and a stock rearend, uncut wheelwells and skinny little 6 or 7 in. tires.

 

Hey John, that's BADASS. See, those wheelwells are not stock. They can be nicely opened up too. That car still around? Is that you riding shotgun? Who's that in the back with the camera riding Mother-in-law?

Yeah, look for the R.Seghi gasser build. Or R.Seghi has a bad day for what lead to the Gasser build.

Don't mind RSeghi, he just likes to throw crap on EVERYONE elses stuff. Not too long ago his car had a mutt motor and a four speed with skinny rear tires too,(even though it did have radiused wheel wells) but I guess since it had radiused rear wheel wells, its a gasser. Usually I just let ole Seghi boy slide while he's sticking his foot in his mouth, but this time I wanted to shove him back a little. In 1962 our car then owned by Dennis Coker, took on all comers for D/Gas honors and won, betting a radius wheel well '55 in the final

 

..,oh and I forgot, set a new national D/Gas record of 13.09. I guess Seghi informed Dennis of his gasser infraction, so he radiused the wheel wells, repainted it, and even had the legendary Dennis Jones letter it. Then he won E/Gas with it at '64 Winternationals and the Inaugural Hot Rod Magazine race at Riverside..,and he never had had a straight axle! I wish we could turn back time and right this incredible wrong!.., or maybe Seghi should study up some more on his beloved gasser history before he goes running his mouth. PS. Our '56 is one of many gassers that ran well without radiused wheel wells or straight axles.

 

I like the wheel wells done both ways. Depends on on what era and look you are going for. And besides the only man that has to like is the one who owns it!

And might just as well post an OT photo of my old Bel Air. With a high rpm cross ram small block, a rock crusher and 4.88 gears, it gets on just fine for a belly button car...
