My Dad’s ‘55 back in the day. Sold in 1980 in Central Texas. Was running a 396 dual quad with line lock.

  4. Guessing this car has been posted in this thread at some point, but also see lots of missing pics since it is an old thread... Anyway, now my favorite 55 Chevy gasser considering it’s story and that I got to work on it a little... Not mine, but Rusty Sampsel’s and was his dads before it was his.

  8. Yes I know this has taken me a long time but I have not been in the best of health for a very long time including a fight with Cancer that I am happy to say that I won. I know I keep saying this but it's getting close. And so is my Nomad.
God Bless everybody and Bless our health.

  9. Primed the engine oil system. Just waiting on my Carbs to come back from the plating shop. Making old Carbs look new. Whole car is a new build so I can't put crusty old 650 Center Squirters on it and expect it to look good.
Seriously, I tried that and it just looked terrible.

Hows it going R.Seghi? Love this car.

  11. It's actually coming along fine. Just finishing up alot of small stuff. then off to the fabricator to got roll bar moved back because at 5'11'' even I can't fit in it. Then it should be done.

  12. BTW 4 years Cancer free

  13. Gonna fire up my 55 on Monday or Tuesday evening.

  14. Yes it runs, waiting for my fabricator to clear some room in his shop. The roll bar has to be moved back because at
    5' 10" I don't fit.

What size tire & wheel combination are you running on your 55? Looks perfect!

Thank you. It's been over 10 years since I posted those pics, (June 2011 post #487). The front wheels are 15" x 6" Americans, while the rears are 15"x 7" Americans. I still have the same 215 70 R15 Radial TA's, (with the white letters in) on the front.

In the 2011 photos, the Cheaters on the back were Hurst 8 1/2" wide, 28 3/4" tall. However, by 2018 it was time for new rear tires. It now has Towel City 8" wide, 28 1/2" tall Cheaters. Here's a video from the 2020 "Glory Days" drag meet in Byron ILL.

And here's a photo from about 2019. By the way, my best E.T. is a 13:79 although I usually run in the low - mid 14's.

Here's mine, built in the early 60's. Last raced in the Ohio area. Would love to find some history on it IMG_1003.JPG IMG_1003.JPG
