Very nice car, I agree. So you are doing a complete restoration with no modifications or custom work?

    Nice looking car.

I don't have any sedans though, except the 4dr. Lots of pink!

The car will be restored to original specs minus the 270 Super Red Ram HEMI it camy with...decided to put a soon to be modified 331 Chrysler Industrial Motor in it's place I found locally in Texas for $300.00 that ran it's intire life on Propane until being retired from service in 1980 for a diesel engine. I'll have to do some changes to her to make her road worthy, but I'm sure I'll have one hell of a ride. Then I'll take my Grandf' and Grandm' for a cruise on the town. He had bought the Dodge brand new while in the Navy and it sat on the farm for the last 32 years. So I bought the car from my wifes dad who drove it a couple of yrs until he joined the Navy and then the car sat on the farm covered in the tractor shop until I FOUND OUT ABOUT HER. So I'm really looking forward to coming home from IRAQ and finishing her. All I lack is small stuff, not including the mods for inserting the Chrysler into a Dodge. Any pointers though would be very thankful from you all. I have to admit that this site has been a really great educational tool for the Hemi. Really injoy being able to break away from the everyday life here in IRAQ and emersing myself in everyones Rodder talk and forum. Well hope to hear from you all soon, take care and Keep the FIRE Burning.

  7. That's a nice old Mopar! I've got a '56 Plymouth.........going a whole different direction with it. Gasser looks, 440/727, no frills. I really like the '55 Dodges. I got a '55 Sierra wagon as a windshield donor. It's a neat looking old four-door.

Roger that saw your post,..everyone was giving you a hard time over cutten her up and the sort. Hate to see one cannibilize an old car but you have to do what you have to do. What are you going to do with the rest of the wagon? My Grangf' had the Dealer install a set of wagon fins on this Dodge instead of the original small fins that the car came with. They fit perfectly and make the rear of the car much more pronounced.:D Got any pics of your plymouth?

So the wagon fins will fit onto a sedan quarter panel. I was trying to figure that out. Good news for my '55.

Here's a few pics of my '55, when I got it and right after the paint went on. Bought it in December, I'm running '56 side trim on it because I like the two tone, and some other mild mods. Hopefully it'll be reassembled and driveable in about another month.

Thanks. The paint on the car looks a little wonky in the pics because it's partially wetsanded. The car was factory yellow with a black roof and green interior. I was going to repaint it yellow and black (because I had the yellow paint) but when I ended up having to buy paint, I had to do green.

If you've got pics of how the '55 looks with the wagon fins on it, please post them up. That's exactly what I wanted to do with my '55 but I wasn't sure if it'd work. I'm not a big fan of the non-wagon factory chrome fins that came on the cars, and mine didn't have any at all.

I have a 55 Plymouth, but here is a picture of a 55 Dodge that I have been stealing parts off of.

Did the pictures of the sedan with wagon trim ever get posted?

Here is a picture of a friends '55 Plymouth that he put a kustomized '55 Dodge front clip on.
Also a shot of a '56 Dodge that was made into a Ranchero type pick-up. Picture from a West Coast Kustom's Paso run way back in the late 80's at Sherwood Park. I've heard that this Dodge was from the Green Lantern TV show and was the Green Lantern's gardener's work truck, I don't know how true that is!
Last picture is of a cool little more door '56 Plymouth.
'55 & '56 MOPARS are realy cool looking.

Here is my buddy's 55 that he found in a barn from the original owner. That is the same paint on it that was in the barn too, just scuffed to dull it. He will be in Austin with me in April too. Cool car!

Great lookin' cars! I have a real soft spot for 50s MOpars, they were my Dad's favorites. Learned to drive in a 54 Red Ram Powerflite. If you do the Chrysler swap and want to sell the 270, let me know.
