I helped a guy with this problem(shifting). Some of his dilemma was caused but really loose pivot points in the linkage,plus out of proper adjustment. Have patience and put effort into the adjustment process.Hell of a lot easier than changing ******s. Band adjustment is easy if you follow the steps...may have to cut a hole in the ****** hump tho, if not already.
