Technical 1955 oldsmobile maual trans question

I pulled trans back on my 55 the beaing in front looks ti be in backwards the retainer ring is facings bell housing and moves does has anyone messed with these one arm selector type 3speed manual trans maybe have a exploded view

A manual trans 55 Oldsmobile would be a pretty low production car.

 

Back when I knew of a number of Buick three on the tree.

The last old-style-one-lever manual transmission Oldsmobile I ever saw was a white 1958 Dynamic 88 two-door-post car owned by my cousin Betty Kirksey. She worked at the dealership and because it was a straight shift, no customers wanted it; the car was left over when the '59s came out. To get it gone the dealership gave it to her at below cost. She drove it to work for many years.
